Michelle et son rôle :
Lorsque Michelle reçut le script d'Une vie à deux, elle était également intéressée par un autre projet qui s'appelait Passion of Mind et qui devait être réalisé par Alain Berliner (Ma vie en rose). Une autre actrice était dans le même cas et hésitait également de son côté sur les deux projets, c'était Demi Moore. Les deux actrices décidèrent de passer un accord ensemble : Michelle allait jouer dans Une vie à deux et Demi dans Passion of Mind (aujourd'hui intitulé D'un rêve à l'autre et sorti le 7 juin 2000 dans une indifférence générale). Laquelle a fait le bon choix ???

Enfin un nouveau succès commercial pour Michelle...et pour Harrison Ford ! Michelle a reçu pour ce film le plus gros cachet de sa carrière : 12 millions de dollars.

Ce film est le premier que Michelle tourne depuis qu'elle avait annoncé de mettre sa carrière entre parenthèses après le tournage d'Apparences (Robert Zemeckis, 00). Tout s'est décidé assez vite pour ce nouveau projet et le tournage a débuté le 25 janvier 2001 à Los Angeles. Une précipitation probablement dûe à la grève des acteurs prévue au printemps 2001. Une grève qui n'a finalement pas eu lieu !
